OACC is supported by many generous individuals and foundations.  We would like to briefly acknowledge and thank the institutional funders that have supported OACC through new awards during this first half of 2018!  For a second consecutive year, OACC was awarded $50,000 for core operating support through the The San Francisco Foundation’s Regional Equity Grant Program.  We also received $51,000 for general operating support from the City of Oakland’s General Fund.  OACC’s Organizational Assistance grant of  $16,000 from Oakland’s Cultural Funding Program was extended for a third year.  We owe a special thanks to OACC’s Board of Directors and numerous new individual donors whose support allowed us to receive an additional $10,000 through a 1:1 matching grant from the Asian Pacific Fund.  This matching grant was made available to OACC in conjunction with a 2016-18 Asian Pacific Fund grant for capacity building and civic engagement.  The California Arts Council awarded OACC new grants for capacity building ($5,000 for a Design and Marketing Consultant through their Organizational Development program), and $11,600 in programmatic support through the Artists in Communities program for an “Intersectional Theater Project” with playwright Bonnie Kwong in collaboration with Cleavon Smith.  The “Intersectional Theater Project” is also being supported by a $2,000 grant from the Macpherson Fund at the East Bay Community Foundation.  Last but not least, we received $6,500 from the Akonadi Foundation Beloved Community Fund in support of OACC’s exhibition program, which provides a catalyst for cultural exchange and conversation.  OACC’s exhibition program has greatly benefited from ongoing Akonadi support since 2015-16. Again, we are very grateful for the support of our new and returning institutional funders, individual donors, sponsors, and as well as everyone (artists, teachers, students, community partners, volunteers, and audience members) who make up the OACC community.
